It will be interesting to see how the US 2010 Census will impact demographic data providers across the US. This year, the US Census is only asking 10 questions. This is a far cry from the hundreds of questions previously asked encompassing things like income, housing, occupation etc. I am thinking that many of the hosuehold data providers such as Experian and Axciom will be the new leaders in this category as they will have sufficient and robust enough datasets to accurately estimate out the missing variables. Those that use to rely on Census alone will likely be left scrambling for new sources. 2011 wil be an interesting year in the demographics business.
